253 pages on the German Army combat headgear.
cloth caps to Stahlhelm.
French !
A while ago I asked the editor for the possibility to get it published in English. They won't do it ! But: No problem: they were prepared to sell the material and the copyrights !
Perhaps a nice project for us. Our own book ! crowdfunding ??
Complete ! :thumb up:

The crowdfunding kind of idea is interesting. It is just so hard to break even on publishing endeavors. The rights would have to be dirt cheap. This is a project I would not want.

Now get back to checking the proofs! Good catch on the spelling Erfgoed!! of course no one knows what we are talking about. God bless and good morning.

I know what you are talking about Joe. A tempting idea....of course the key is how much for the rights to publish in English?

The rights include the material and the copyrights.
Will check on the price.
The Publisher sells it all.
PM you.

It might be possible to produce this as a "print on demand" book, which requires no investment to speak of, so the costs can be limited to the acquisition of the rights and the materials. Have a look at http://www.lulu.com where I have some of my (admittedly far simpler) books published.

My two cents is that print on demand can be a problem too.

The paper quality on Lulu leaves much to be desired in my opinion. I was going to publish my first helmet book via Lulu and honestly it might still be available, but the quality was lacking and in the end I printed in China.

The other issue is that the cost for the end buyer can be really high too.
