    1860s Mecklenburg Dragoon?

Hello all! I am hoping that someone may be able to confirm my suspicions on this photo. I got it in with a grouping of other photos, and suspect that he may be an 1860s Mecklenburg Dragoon. I know they wore kepis. If not a Mecklenburger, I would certainly think a Dragoon of one of the other...

    Provisional Reichswehr

One era that I love to collect images of is the short-lived time period of the Provisional Reichswehr. They are not common, so to stumble upon them is always a nice surprise. Feel free to share what you may have in your collections!

Mecklenburg Jäger with Jäger-Bataillon Nr.10 Shako

Here is a peculiar one! The soldier at right was from Mecklenburgisches Jäger-Bataillon Nr.14, but his shako has the distinct front plate of Hannoversches Jäger-Bataillon Nr.10.

    Gibraltar Cuff Titles

A fun aspect of collecting photos is occasionally lucking out on a photo showing the Hanoverian Gibraltar cuff title, as worn by Jäger-Bataillon Nr. 10, Füsilier-Regiment Nr. 73, and Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 79. I will kick off this post with my most recent find, men of FR73.

Proud recipient of the Anhaltisches Friedrich-Kreuz

A soldier of Anhaltisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr.93 proudly displays his newly awarded Friedrich-Kreuz. Pretty certain this is the only photo in my collection showing this award.

Garde-Grenadier-Regiment Nr.2 soldier with cavalry gear?

This one is a curiosity... This soldier has shoulder straps and Litzen that seem to match Kaiser Franz Garde-Grenadier-Regiment Nr.2. The question is, why does he have riding boots, a cavalry belt, and a saber? I am hoping someone here may have an answer for me!

    Immediate Post-WW1 German Police

I got in this great photo yesterday, likely taken in the years immediately following WW1. MP18s, stacks of M1918 Stahlhelms, Tschakos, crash helmets, flare pistols, and flashlights can be seen. I wish I could have seen it with my own eyes!

Unique sleeve insignia of 208. Infanterie-Division

As far as I know, 208. Infanterie-Division was the only one to have unique sleeve insignia for its Regiments. I would love to see what other photos you may all have of this insignia. I only have a few, but I am more than happy to share them.

    Argentineans wearing the Pickelhaube

As I am due to get in a few more of these, I figured I would start a thread. This is the first example I have attained of an Argentinean Infantryman wearing a Pickelhaube. Such intriguing uniforms, seemingly borrowing from the Germans and the French. I look forward to posting more as I get them!

    Waffenrock of Mecklenburgisches Grenadier-Regiment Nr.89

I found this rare Waffenrock locally in the Milwaukee area. I honestly couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it! When I got the piece, it was missing the shoulder straps. I have since found two. Not perfect matches, but they will do for now until I can find a better one to match the one on the...

    1870s Prussian Soldiers

This great photo was purchased by my father in the late 1970s from The Fox Hole Auctions. That auction house was run by Ron Manion and was the precursor to Manion's Auctions. He graciously gifted it to me about a year ago. It is normally in its old frame, but I removed it to get a good scan. I...
