    13th Uhlan Regiment 1889-1899

Very nice. I have two pair, both are silver. However the cypher and crown are still trimmed in gold. On one pair there is a button on each small end with a "5' which I guess signifies the squadron number. As we have discussed before, I have some stuff from the 13U too.

Very nice photo. I'm sure that I am the only one who doesn't know, but what tells you that he is a trumpeter?

Good one! I'll bet he was a cocky individual. It doesn't look like he is old enough to shave.

According to my research, each Squadron was broken down into four squads (Zugs) with each squad being led by a lieutenant (Zugfuhrer).

    13th Uhlan Regiment

Wonderful collection. One of my favorite regiments too. In fact, my first unit marked Luger and pickelhaube were for that regiment.

    UR 18

I like this photo. It shows the slight curvature of the Saxon sabers.

    13 UR Enlisted man mounted

Great photo. Notice the little shoe (boot) on the right stirrup that holds the butt end of the lance when in the stowed position. These are extremely hard to find now, especially with the proper stirrup.
