1st Meldereiter Detachement helmet

Hi all,

It's not one of my latest purchases but it's one of the new toys of my friend and neighbour, Philippe (badois 110).

It's a very intersting helmet because it did belong to the very first Meldereiter Detachement created on october 1st 1895. it's stamped with the twoo marks, the 3. Kurassiere Regt that served to create the 1st Meldereiter Detachement. In my opinion, it's a great helmet because whe can say that it has been issued between oct 1st 1895 and december 31st 1895.

Bonjour Maxime:

Thank you for sharing the pictures and history of Philippe's new treasure. I see that the manufacturer, A. Klucke & Co, is not yet on Joe's list of helmet makers. Perhaps Philippe would being willing to add his splendid Kurassier to the list.
