Re: a bit of my collection, pickelhaube, soldiers and more

Very nice collection Sergei, The helmets look great, but all those soldiers, man, do you live in an old Russian mansion? The house looks immense regarding the place you have as a collection room. Excellent and very nice collection! :thumb up: :thumb up: Greetings, Coert. :) Oh no my friend. I do no...

Re: Busbies/Pelzmützen

When I started this hobby, my aim was to preserve history. We all guard our collection well so as not to allow any fakes that flow into our collection. I do have to say that it is amazing skill but my first reaction was - if this item flow into the market as original then our line of defence is dow...

I certainly agree. It is not a fake. It is a beautiful reproduction that has not been presented as an original. What a fantastic demonstration of a set of skills that few possess. I am in awe Sergei1877.

Re: Busbies/Pelzmützen

Pardon me if I may sound too offensive. Wouldn't one call this re-work a fake? Well, did I write somewhere that this is the original? This is a reproduction. If I sold this thing giving it away as the original, it would be fake and fraud. And so I just made a reproduction, well, for example, for th...

Sergei....you made this piece? Or you restored it?? Awesome work either way!
I did this completely myself. Buying a hussar hat is simply expensive for me. Even in poor condition, they are very rare. I decided to sew myself

Busbies/Pelzmützen

Hello . I want to show my work on the hussar hat. This is not quite a restoration of the subject, but rather a reconstruction of the Hussar Pelzmüce. Material used only natural. linen, leather, seal or fur

Re: Garde Kürassier Regiment Helmet

I think the helmet looks great, but I have a somewhat unrelated question: When was the top eagle authorized for wear on these helmets? I believe that the lion on top of Saxon Garde Regiments was authorized in 1876, but when was the Prussian Garde authorized to wear the eagle? John :? much earlier b...

Work done...restitch both visors, provide one original trim brad. resolder split brad on spine, clean all fittings, refinish areas of missing lacquer, apply polish to entire helmet to blend in new finish. https://photos.smugmug.com/Completed-Restorations/i-QTGLVQq/0/...

Hello to all . Finished work on the restoration of this picelhaube. Unfortunately, the skin condition of the helmet is very poor and I had to cover the helmet cap with old felt. It remains to establish a silk lining

Not as bad as the other one.

The leather liner does not have the scallop edges .

I have not seen this before , possibly a post war add on ?
I think there were different options, I’ve already seen a similar one
