Very interesting. I wrote an article (unfortunately in French) dealing with these helmets. Most of them we can find today come from the battle of "Les Loges" near Roye in octobrer 1914, where hundreds of wounded "Colberger" were left after an attack on the french positions. Yes, you should check the history of AR43. Some regiment histories explains clearly that they took helmets from others BA. For instance, RIR 234 took pickelhauben fron Guard, Pionnier and even police.

Hello The marking 36LJR is fort Landwehr Infanterie Regiment 36 which II and III Bataillon were raised from soldiers coming from JR 153. So il is logical ! A uncommon regiment because it was in the former West Preussen, the garison was in the place of Thorn, on the Weichsel. The IR 21 fought in the East form 1914 up to the beginning of 1918. So it is difficult to find an helmet from this regiment.
I would have some doubt about the Reichkokarde.

Thanks for this very interesting article ! I have a FR 73 helmet with writen inside the Name of à US soldier and "Koblenz".
I think that in these 85000 helmets, there were too a stock of FAR 44 because of the number of helmets and Uberzug you can find today in USA.

Hello I would too not hésitate a second to gather the two items. It is very scarce to find so smatching Uberzug Pickelhaube. I try to collect such sets and I can confirm it is difficult to find such a smatching set. And generally prices are very very high... I will show this evening another waterloo...
