Re: Michael Baldwin Collection auction part 1. 31 January

I was in the sale room today and unfortunately felt like a poor man in a rich man's house, best thing was to see the lots and examine them, five serious buyers there one guy had three cavalry helmets on the bounce. My jaw hit the floor with one stick grenade at 1000 pounds plus 240 commission bigges...

wartime reservists stein info wanted

I came across this beer stein at a local boot fair, its named to its owner but no regimental details, it shows cavalry attacking the French and has some early war dates, it appears to reference both Wurtenberg and saxon with motto's and crests so I wondered if it was a combined unit action, the figu...

over here in the uk guns are very much frowned upon and mostly illegal. back in the 1990's the police held a gun amnesty they knew the crims would not hand them over but guessed that tucked away in peoples attics may have been some illegal firearms. so an amnesty was held and weapons could be handed...

Apart from a light clean as mentioned above leave them alone. They look better that way especially if enlisted, they have been through a war and the patina once lost will take another lifetime to return.
