Re: ONE OF MY FAVORITES

Thanks for all the nice comments ! I am sure I will learn much more from the group if you all are like Brian, he has helped me quite a bit with identifying what I have. As soon as I can figure out how to use the picture posting process I will post more pictures of my collection !

Re: RESHAPING HELMET BODY

Thanks for reposting with pictures, so much easier to see the problem. This is what I would do...... you need a styrofoam head form, most collectors have them so I am going to assume you do. Put a plastic bag over it so your liner won't stick to it. Next take a couple of sheets of paper towel, put ...

RESHAPING BODY OF HELMET

Need to know the proper way to reshape helmet body. The rear visor has come unstitched and the body has a flat spot at rear under where the visor attaches to body (from long time storage). How do I reform the body to it's original round shape ?
Thanks for any help !

It may not be the ultimate Waffen collectible, but I'm darn happy with this complete and fully functional 1917 Gwf. Re: NEED HELP IDENTIFYING HELMET PLATE

As this is a private purchase helmet, there are no grommets in the shell so you could carefully enlarge a little bit on both holes. Use a round file like you would use for sharpening a chain saw. This is your call however, as Bruno points out and there is still no guarantee that when you get the pl...

Re: AN INTERESTING FIND

You did very well.....the chin strap if original (looks good to me) alone is $200+. In addition, you have a slightly damaged rare helmet plate. If the rear visor is stamped to one of the Regts that wore this wappen then you have even more of a bonus! In all my 30+ years of searching I have only fou...

HELMET PARTS

Today I found a man who has a few original helmet parts and two incomplete helmets. I can get them in a trade...

Re: NEED HELP IDENTIFYING HELMET PLATE

It is a plate with screw attachments (not loops), which is what your helmet needs. If interested you must ask the seller what the distance between the two screws is. The seller has thousands of + feedbacks (100 %); I would not be worried. The price is rather on the high side.... The seller tells me...
