I also like desk-pieces, but only have 1, a M16 with a 98-05 bayonet and laurels on a marble base.

It looks real to me too. Is it a possibility that this wappen was intended for an M15, but somehow missed the step of being painted grey? I think it plausible, because I have a Württemberg M15, with a wappen that is copper, but painted, to give it a grey finish. So wasn't finished when war ended, or...

I like restoring and riding classic motorcycles. I had about 35 since I was 18. I do have a modern one too, for riding daily. Yours looks to me to have been a M15 once, made by Hans Römer in Neu-Ulm, in 1916. And after the war made in...

I have the same thoughts about it as Jonas has. Not that I ever saw something like it, but I think it once had a notebook in it. Ron, the strap is marked Diethelm & Co. A.G. Oberriet.
Oberriet is a place in Switzerland, very close to the border with Bayern.

It was the first one I saw with a pink liner, but green I did see several times. But the beige ones I saw the most..

Domi probably means de-activated, meaning they will never fire again.
Unfortunately for him I had a Gewehr98 and 88, which were de-activated, but exchanged them for 2 haubes last sunday...

But they can be found, there are 2 for sale here in the Dutch site Marktplaats.nl .
