Re: Making an "all ersatz" thread?

Hi Tony, Feel free to move my posts of erzats helmets to this section, I posted a tin and a felt one some time ago, in the new found topic, and other topics here on the forum. Nice idea doing this, so every ersatz can be found and seen in a special topic for them. Happy Easter and thanks! Greetings,...

Me too! The picture of this particular museum reminds me of the Hill62 museum of Jaques Schier, near Zillebeke.
I do not know if it is still open, the owner died a few years ago.

It may help you to know that Angers is a city in France, maybe the Faucheux is a costume company there, or just the name of the collector.

I agree with aicusv regarding the chinscales being painted. But I also noticed the front visor seems to fit reasonably good on the left side, but on the right seems way too far up. This when wearing the helmet, looking at it from the picture left is loose and way too far up, and rightside seems okay...

It looks real to me too. Is it a possibility that this wappen was intended for an M15, but somehow missed the step of being painted grey? I think it plausible, because I have a Württemberg M15, with a wappen that is copper, but painted, to give it a grey finish. So wasn't finished when war ended, or...
