Nice Helmet, congratulations :bravo:
Btw, I saw bavarian Helmets with tall Spikes and some Helmets, like this one, with shorter Spikes. I found no reasons because of Regiments for these differences, like flat or rounded Chinscales. Doesanybody know if there existed a rule?

Unfortunately not a family piece, just purchased. The photographer is E. Bieber of Berlin & Hamburg. Next to the date is a written word which is hard to read “ Cidrel “ or “Bidrel”, presumably where the portrait was signed. A nice piece of history :bravo: I love these Photos of another period and I...

Re: Understanding Cockades

Over the years several different cocades have been used. The cocades differs in diameter and with the M91-Helmet the chintrap got a new mountingsystem. That‘s the reason for the larger center hole in the cocades. Read more here, please: http://www.kaisersbunker.com/pe/m1891.htm or here: http://picke...

Picture of Emperor Wilhelm II with firegilt Crown and Monogram on the Frame

Dear Gentlemen, I‘m very proud to present my new original Picture of his highness Emperor Wilhelm II, King of Prussia :) I guess it is a Gift-Frame of 1910-1914, the dimensions are 70cm x 54cm. In any case it seems to be original, untouched at the backside and in an overall good condition. It got a ...

Cool post, think my Sabre may be linked here :) It is a 1910 Cavalry-Sabre with Monogramm of Alfons of Bavary. A daily use Sword, that‘s why I was not sure if it was really one of his own. But I presented it to Jan Kube, who gave me a written certificate that it is a real Sabre of Alfons of Bavaria ...
