Steve, I recently acquired the dragoon M15 which has no Spike and that's why I did the research ams realised that the spike had to be removable with the pearls at the throat. Yes this helmet was the talk of the show when the item was pulled out together with many others good helmets.

Then all the other good helmets got sold and this one was left there for days.

Hmm, I am a slow learner. Stitching already took me a while to figure out and do a good job, then comes cleaning which I am still learning, so lacquering is out of the question for me. I don't even lacquer my fingernails, what's more lacquering the shells ...Way to go , way to learn for me.....

The rust remover that pink jelly thing is called loctite natural jelly.

My diesel has turned darker brown again so rust is taking off.

The rust remover, the pink jelly thing, removes the rust by "eating" it up but the polish surface will also have a different shade of colour. I have 2 lobsterpots shoaking in diesel and I do a check on their progress every quarter and seems good. The rust drops off bits by bits without affecting muc...

When I started this hobby, my aim was to preserve history. We all guard our collection well so as not to allow any fakes that flow into our collection. I do have to say that it is amazing skill but my first reaction was - if this item flow into the market as original then our line of defence is down...
