Congrats! A Bambis with rolled rim is one of the rarer felt helmets. I don’t think there was any other company that produced this style. Very nice to have that clear company stamp.

Hi Pete: A picture from my collection which relates to your recent LG repro purchase. I have had this since 1997 when I had the glass replaced and new backing put on. I have never seen a similar photo of LG's up here in CN. These period panoramas rarely include weaponry which is why I bought this pi...

Many thanks for the pictures Ron. That is the exact helmet I was describing. I had one of those years ago but sold it to fund a military WW1 helmet. Another fire officer helmet characteristic is that the rear visor will be trimmed in white metal. My Rhinelander had this trim but this may have been a...

Re: Help needed about Wappen
My vote is, fire service officer helmet and wappen post WW1. The holes in my opinion are for a missing small shield which is often affixed to the eagle’s chest. In the case of the Rhineland fire officer this would be a white metal shield painted green with a raised silver “river” running diagonally ...

Re: 1913 Regimental marking with 1916 maker's mark
Note that the liner is the M15 style and not dyed black. Typically, a helmet accepted by GR112 in 1913 would have a black liner. This suggests that perhaps the original liner was replaced in 1916. I would carefully pull the liner out and look at the stitch lines on the inside for old stitch holes wh...

That’s it, thanks Sandy! The letters are always the same in stenciled gold paint with the size done by hand. I have always wondered how so many of these ended up in such excellent condition. I bought mine from Randy T long before the creation of Age of Kings.

Not surprising that a “civilian “ would say this, as boys I am sure that most of us staged sword fights with sticks or actual wood swords we made from available lumber. In my case, I made swords from the wood slats taken off old style snow fencing.

Re: Prussian Tin kit helmet
I would agree John regarding the spine. You also have the typical brass square nut on your spine whereas the typical kit helmet has an octagonal nut. Interesting that the leather liner was so thin that they decided to add metal grommets. We usually only see this on tschapka liners.
