Amy, M15 Prussian Kurassier helmets were sometimes produced with blackened shells, therefore this combination was not impossible. This was perhaps a Kurassier Extra-Helm (private purchase), since it cannot be an Ordonnanz/Meldereiter helmet with this round visor. This hypothesis would not be suppor...

I think you are referring to this one. I bought it from EBAY last month. The front and rear visors were dislodged and they were made of cardboard and I spent a while stitching them back together. The liner is period. It did not have any spike, I don't have the correct spike for it so I put on an M15...

Hmm, I am a slow learner. Stitching already took me a while to figure out and do a good job, then comes cleaning which I am still learning, so lacquering is out of the question for me. I don't even lacquer my fingernails, what's more lacquering the shells ...Way to go , way to learn for me.....
