Re: Yes it Does Have Extra Holes Behind The Plate

The smaller pair of holes are original and the "further apart" pair is newly made to accommodate the plate. The thickness of the brass eyelets is wrong. The battle banner doesn't seem quite right to me with the black ink and the way it is sitting around the upper half of the heraldic eagle. FAR stam...

Very nice helmet Coert, congratulations on adding it to your collection! :thumb up: I once had an example that was depot reworked that I sold to Amy back in late 2006 or early 2007 that I still miss having. It had a fluted spike on it with the cloverleaf cross base, and old plugged holes behi...

Hi James, Have been reminding myself to reply to this post and yes I am doing it. I think you are asking if we think there should be the coat of arms to be affixed at the chest of the eagle. I agree with Bruno that this is a fake. Sorry to disappoint. I have own many felt helmets and still having them, the liner band are not correct for a felt helmet. The side post reinforced pieces are not of correct proportion if there is ever a need for those sideposts reinforced pieces. The brass fr...
