I have watched a few episodes of this Belgian WW1 series on Netflix and its highly recommended. However, its in Flemish.

Yes, Netflix does offer some shows by region. Netflix actually produces less true "originals" but instead licenses foreign shows, hence the number of Swedish murder mysteries!

It is hit or miss what makes it to the USA. I did see that the 2014 Austrian TV movie "Sarajevo" is on Netflix in the USA, while the Finnish WWII movies "Unknown Soldier" is on Amazon Video.

Netflix is different in every country as it's based on licencing agreements. When we are in the UK or Europe Netflix has completely different shows than in Canada. When we're in the USA Netflix is excellent. Netflix here in Canada is garbage.

Netflix will be evolving. The reason is that by the end of this year it will lose much (if not all) of its Disney content. That means no Star Wars, no Marvel, etc. I just wrote about Disney+, another streaming service:

TV hasn't changed this much since cable TV arrived in major cities in the 1970s and 1980s!
