Congratulations Steve. This busby is a killer piece.
Some years ago I I had the rare opportunity to come across an ersatz busby like this but I was unable to seize the opportunity and maybe this will never happen to me again.

I missed this one earlier. Congratulations Steve on acquiring this incredibly rare and beautiful condition busby!

It's icing on the cake to have a provenance of it being shown in the old Johansson "Pickelhauben" book so many years ago.

It is indeed in a great condition, bar the left chinscale which is falling apart and soon will be in Brian's expert hands for reassembly.

I’m genuinely impressed with these ersatz busbys. You don’t see too many genuine ones around, and they are unfortunately faked heavily. Excellent pieces!
