Hello and thank you both for your thoughts. The helmet plate seems to fit well, do you think some aspects of the helmet are original and other bits have been added to replace missing parts?

Just saw this one on UK ebay. What do we think, I have only ever had standard O/R's one's in hand so have no experience of this type of helmet. Seems odd to me that the chine scales are of a different colour to the rest of the helmet...

Did German units often put whitener on their field badges etc? If not, would it be worth gently cleaning the whitening off of the feldzeichen? The compound is very dry and seems to fall away without too much trouble. Regards, Alba
