Astounding-I cant imagine a helmet this old in such amazing condition ! and the pirices they get on Ebay for beat-to @#%* crap ! remarkable preservation.

Gustav-You're right re the investment part.I've bought/sold antiques for years and the only repros worth spit are things like a ming dynasty copy of a shang era vase-a 400 year old replica ! Thanks for the input-too bad he starts this thing at $300.

As mentioned in an earlier Post,I'm just getting started in collecting Pickelhaube.There are hundreds,if not thousands of Dealers on Ebay and elsewhere on the web offering haube-its bewildering. Is there a place to go on this Site that does a good job of listing Reputable and Irreputable...

Maybe I'll just keep hunting for an original...Ebay may have run it's course as a site for bargain Haubes (some of the prices 'beaters' are going for ! ,course maybe they have a rarer plate,etc that an amateur like me can't recognize. I wish there were more Militaria Swapmeets in Portland,OR.
