    piping size on mutze & schrimmutze

    Hi; Just looking at a few of my cloth mutze & schirmmutze and I'm wondering when or if there was an approximate time that fat piping [approx. 4mm thick] on pre-war mutze and schrimmutze changed to thin piping style [approx.2.5mm thick]?? Anybody have an opinion? Cheers Dick

    The Forgotten Faschinenmesser

    Larmo; Great information!I have a "type 5" Faschinenmesser. On mine the spine is date is a 12 with what looks like a "Gothic" W [it is unit marked to Wuttemberg Field Artillery]. Was this just restamped in 1912 ? Just looking for anymore history on these fine weapons/tools. Cheers Dick
