During searching for Pickelhaube helmets I am finding some good price helmets tat have some restorations. My question is, does any restoration to any Helmet decrease it historic value? Is it recommended to buy restored helmets? Thank you for any advice.

Very nice work, I never thought that a helmet in that condition could be restored. Did I noticed right to say that you sanded the helmet surface, if yes what did you use to bring it back to life. Thanks Alf

Hi, Thank you all for your help. I saw this helmet " Prussian man. Foot type. Regt. 1880 " but it seems that it has only one Kokarde to the right of the helmet which it seems that is PreuBen because it is Black outside and white, but the left side there is no Kokarde. Is this correct. Thanks alf

Searching some dealers in search of a nice pickelhaube to add to my collection I met some helmets with only one rosette( hope I got the right name ) Are there any helmets that are with one rosette or it is because one is missing ? Thanks

Hi, I am new to this hobby and I have a felt pickelhaube, which I wish to know if it is Ok to clean it. Usually I do not clean my Iron Crosses I leave them with any Patina they come with. any recommendations are welcome and appreciated.
