They indeed went through a lot of effort to make this one look convincing. Can you tell me how you were able to see through it’s facade, I’m still having a hard time distinguishing pieces like this.

I actually looked at that exact page before posting here but the one you linked is a mannschaften model and the one I posted looks like an officers model.
Looks like I still have a long way to go. I thought the chinstrap looked a bit off but didn't suspect the Wappen at all. Is there a way I can tell the difference? Also I'll try getting pictures of the inside since I am curious. Thanks for your replies!

Yes the rear also caught my eye. I wonder if someone purposefully cut the back of a normal pickelhaube and made other modifications to make it look like a Tschapka.
