I got this Ulanka during my visit to Hamburg from the amazing store Helmut Weitze. They told me the sleeve buttons being Prussian had to do with military schools but they weren’t sure either so I wanted to ask the forum. I actually looked at that exact page before posting here but the one you linked is a mannschaften model and the one I posted looks like an officers model.

Looks like I still have a long way to go. I thought the chinstrap looked a bit off but didn't suspect the Wappen at all. Is there a way I can tell the difference? Also I'll try getting pictures of the inside since I am curious. Thanks for your replies!

Yes the rear also caught my eye. I wonder if someone purposefully cut the back of a normal pickelhaube and made other modifications to make it look like a Tschapka.
