The Braunschweig wappen is probably one of if not my very favourite Wappen. I absolutely love the Totenkopf. Very nice.

I don't know much about books, but this one seems to be in good shape, and I really like it.

Aswell with what has been said, I will also add that the Paint job looks rather crude. Not awful, but yet not nice enough to cry originality. It was, as said, most likely a cut down M16 that received a makeup job.

I am not sure but It looks as though you can see slits where holes of the Bavarian wappen were patched. However this could just as easily be part of the Crazing in the leather.

When I began watching Hogan's Heroes at probably about 8 years old with my Dad, Klink's spiked Helmet fascinated me, of course I soon could look and see it was fake, but yet It is still good to know this, and I cant help but what to think that Helmet may be just as valuable as many originals...

There are two possibilities, these being that the helmet is Bavarian, and your hypothesis is most likely correct, or the stamp is incorrect for whatever reason. I suspect that you are probably correct, because IMO the stamp looks good, and I do not believe it would be marked wrongly when made...
