Hi all,
just wanted to give big thanks to Tony for his help in filling a hole in my collection, he kindly agreed to sell me the Bayern Infantry Krätzchen from his collection. some pictures below from Tony's site....
Hi Tony, thanks for your reply and the kind offer, apologies for the slow response from my side but have been on vacation with very limited web access. Have sent you a PM,
cheers
thanks for the feedback, pretty sure it was a repro or re enactor. The seller had an excellent returns policy, so it was a useful lesson. Onwards and upwards in the search for a good one.. cheers
Hi all,
I have been trying to track down a decent WW1 German cap to add to the collection, any chance of an opinion on this one please. Not sure on the printed markings inside, Rgt.89 seems a little odd?
There are red and black felt pads behind the cockades, which I think is a good sign...
Hi all,
thanks for the positive comments, It was for sale in a shop many miles away from home, so I was a bit unsure in making the purchase without any reference material to hand. I'm in the UK and there seems to be a multitude of dodgy ones for sale where ever you go, so finding good honest...

Thanks for all the answers, not my helmet but it is for sale locally. Price is perhaps a little high for me.

Having read the various posts about re hydrating the Pickelhaube shell and re blocking the shape, it got me wondering if its possible to do the same for a misshapen rear visor. the following picture isn't of a helmet that I own, but is it the sort of thing that's easily restored , or is...
Hi,
It’s my first post – so hello everyone !
I picked up a grubby Feldmutz recently primarily as a photo prop and something that the school kids that my wife teaches can touch & wear when they study WW1. The price made me think it’s a repro / fake but I don’t have anything to compare it...
