In case it was unclear, my connection to the forum and this thread is that the hats worn by the figures that make up the legs of the stool are...
Looking for any information that anyone may have about this sort of stool. I am bringing it to a museum later this week for further identification.
Pictures say it all, let me know if you have any ideas.

For your consideration:
I believe it to be a early 20th century Force Publique stool from the Congo area of Africa.
The legs are heads of Force Publique guards and the top shows a goat eating some sort of grain and a snake, repeated.
Ever seen one like it?
Very interesting Force Publique wood carved stool.

It looks like it is made with inlaid copper coil.
The legs are made up of the heads of Force Publique guards with their traditional fez hats. Probably from the early days...
