Junk shop score, two Wurttemberg Wappen

I found a couple of rough Wurttemberg Wappen in a local Junk shop. Both are damaged as can be seen. What interests me is the M15 has had both heads and crown snipped off, intentionally it seems. Could that be period ?

Prussian M15 Tschako with silver Adler

Greetings. I recently acquired this M15 Tschako. Its in reasonable condition, size 54 without any visable stamps. The liner is complete but very fragile. Both the Feldzeichen and chinstrap are self made aged repros. It came with the silvered Adler, which i suppose was never original to it, and...

Distressed felt pickelhaube, restoration candidate ?

I see the difference, i wouldn't have noticed it, thanks for pointing it out. My only Wappen with the correct loop spacing is this Prussian.

Thanks for that. What are the points of difference between the two eagles ?

Distressed felt pickelhaube, restoration candidate ?

After stitching in the liner i made a leather drawstring. With the same old leather i rebuilt a chin strap. This i fitted with a pair of repro cockades. Among my collection of Wappen i had an original Guard Prussian Eagle, also brass. As it didn't have its center piece, i aged a repro one to...

Distressed felt pickelhaube, restoration candidate ?

I used some field-grey fabric glued to cardboard to fashion another visor. Once glued and stitched into place , the colour match was quite close. Next job, fashion a liner. Using a piece of 1mm thin black leather, i cut out a liner. This was stitched into place after renewing all the needle...

Distressed felt pickelhaube, restoration candidate ?

After looking at this Fitz sitting forlornly, visor-less and unloved on my shelf, i thought whats to lose ? It has a nice shape to it, size label and the remnants of an issue stamp. Plus i dont own any other Fitzhelms....so i will have a go at giving it a new lease on life, so to speak ! As its...

    1885 Bavarian 6JR battlefield bringback

This Bavarian 1885 is one of my first Pickelhaube, which i collected approximately 30 years ago. Its a battlefield pickup by a New Zealand vet, Harry Pattle, who served in the later part of 1918. I was attracted to its unclean and original condition, the inside is still coated with dried mud...

Distressed felt pickelhaube, restoration candidate ?

Good morning. I have the chance to purchase this felt 1915 with a view to restoration. Whilst its shape is still very good, im concerned about the possibility of ever finding some felt to match the missing visor. I have all the required hardware but would be looking for a repro liner. Sorry for...
