Trouble Adding to a Post

Is anybody else having trouble adding a comment to a post? When I try to add a comment I get a message "oops a failure has occurred". When I close it my comment posts twice. Sorry, it's very hard to explain, but it is proving to be a royal pain.

John

YES !!! I get that too, and it results in multiple posts that are the same. When you hit reply, it just posts the same thing you wrote instead of allowing you to type a new post.....

But this has been in the conversation section for me. Sorry to all those who I have sent multiple identical messages to. Or maybe I'm just not using the forum right...lol

I will inform Joel about this problem and direct him to this post. I have not had this happen. It is also time to pay him for his services in 2022. Thanks for the heads up.

Me too, I answered to your conversation, but could not send my reply to you.
The site seems to have a problem now.. I recieved your messages several times though.
I got a message about a server problem.

Regards, Coert.

I emailed our tech support Joel last night and let him know about this problem. The site was off line on Sunday for a couple of hours.

Thanks Coert. I received your reply three times LOL.

Unfortunately, there is something definitely wrong with our site. I have emailed Joel again asking for support and listing the problems. He is usually very quick to respond. Hopefully, covid is not a factor with his lack of response.

Brian, I did not experience this problem, but I noticed that it is not possible anymore to attach pictures that will appear immediately on a post. This started a few days ago. Now, only a link to the picture appears in the post, that you must click to see the photo. It is okay, but less spectacular.
My apologies if someone already mentioned this. I may be a little behind...
Thank you,

Yes Bruno, I saw that happening a few days back as well and it is annoying. I made Joel aware of that in my last email to him today. Unfortunately, I have not heard back as yet. My apologies to all members, we are in the hands of the "Techies" right now. There is nothing I can do except send emails. :(

Hi all - apologies for the trouble and the delay in getting these issues sorted.

As far as I know you should now be able to add comments and you should also be able to add attachments (i.e. images).

With that said, if you're still experiencing this problem please do let me know (you're all more than welcome to message me directly via the forum) and I'll see what I can do to fix it as soon as possible.

Thanks for fixing the problem, Not sure if it's just me but I can't upload pictures, the message is that the file is too big for the server ? I have tried with different camera settings and even photo's I had posted successfully before on the forum ?

Any help appreciated....

cheers

Tony

Well Tony, as you can see I just tried, but for me it works again. Then again, it might be the file is not so big.
I'll try posting a bigger one later on.
Regards, Coert.

nope still says the uploaded file is too large for the server to process..............I'll look at my computer settings

Tony, the raw images off a camera these days are HUGE. They would quickly suck up all the server storage.

Before I post, I always re-size the image in an editing program to 1000 pixels in width or height. This can turn an enormous 12MB photo into a small 250KB image; a fraction of the size with no loss to quality. This helps everyone.

And for Brian if you read this, members have to know what file size limitation has been set.

That is a marvelous display Coert. Bravo!

i'm on it. Thanks, learning new It skills now as well as about Pickelhaubes.....this forum rocks.

The kids have been trying to teach me to text and everything.....when they know I can re size images it will blow their minds !
