Many thanks to you all for your comments. I am glad that you liked him.

I forgot one detail. As a token gift in appreciation of my purchase of Kürassier Möller’s portrait, his descendants also gave me his helmet in original transport case, which had remained in the family since the war.

Really Bruno ?, you forgot!!?
What a wonderful combination that is.
Congratulations,
Steve.

Here is Kürassier Möller’s helmet, all original and uncleaned. A few dents, and chinscales are slightly damaged, but it is complete (minus the eagle...).
A good thing is that the "frosty" silvering on the Garde emblem is still largely present. This is seldom seen, as when originally present, this matt silver finish was almost invariably lost to polishing.

What, they didn’t include the parade eagle? Ingrates! 😀 All kidding aside, what a fantastic set, a Collector’s dream! Thank you very much for posting this Bruno.

What an amazing find Bruno!!! I am in shock that you have his photo and his helmet!!! I am speechless!!!

Always good to have a face under the helmet!
Bruno, is the helmet Kammerstempel marked, maker marked, dated? Do you have pict of the inside? Is there a nametag?
Do you know the military career of Kürassier Möller (documents as MP or SB)? Was he still in this unit during the war and which rank he had finally? Was he an active soldier or normal EM? Of which region was he from? Were you able to learn more about him from his descendants? It´s very interesting to have such a "direct" link to the past.
Is it the same helmet on the pict?

Philippe

Many thanks, again, for your nice comments.

Philippe, Johannes Möller was from Hemme (Holstein). The carrying case does bear Bahn tags from Berlin and Hemme.
There may be answers to your questions about his military career: with the picture and helmet came about 30 letters he sent to his mother in Hemme when serving in GKR!
