Alan thank you for your opinion.Wappen is identical to adler pioniere and I think a lot of them are on pickelhaubes with a filed small eagle. Now this wappen is rare.
Best Regards,
Wojtek

Hello Wojtek,

Yes, this is the first one I have seen in lower rank. It looks great on your helmet!

Here is the officer one that I found:

Best Wishes,

Alan

Greetings,

the Unterzahlmeister was not a military official, he was a serving soldier in the rank of a Feldwebel. And as such he did not wear the Beamtenabzeichenon his helmet plate. Only on appointment to the rank of Zahlmeister did he cease to be an active soldier and become a military official. This from appendix 6 to the AKO of 1 June 1906 concerning the uniform of the newly created rank of Unterzahlmeister.

Translated as:

Helmet: As per the Zahlmeister, however without the Official insignia on the helmet plate and with retaining studs (Kopfsplinten).

Regards
Glenn

Sandy in the forum gave a quote from the book."The administration of the army was carried out by a paymaster, who was descended from the old "accountants." The Senior Paymaster (Oberzahlmeister) and Paymaster (Zahlmeister) were military officials (mid-level clerks), while the Subordinate Paymasters (Unterzahlmeister) were soldiers. In general, the Senior-Paymaster was responsible for the staff, and the Paymaster was responsible for managing the clothing, for each battalion or department, and the Sub-Paymaster as "treasurer." Cavalry regiments had only one Paymaster-Officer and one Sub-Paymaster, while Engineer Battalions had 2 Officers and one Sub-Paymaster.
All paymasters had to wear uniforms like officers. However, the uniforms of Hospital Clerks, Provincial Clerks, Garrison Clerks and Clothing Department Clerks had white cloth badges instead of cornflower, lemon yellow, light blue and red badges. Paymasters, however, had silver buttons, which were always plain (even for clerks, since they were military). Accordingly, they had silver crescents, silver and blue stripes on epaulettes (Epauletten-Tressen) and loops on (Passanten-Tressen) and epaulettes. Military-officers also wore silver-blue Military-Officialsportépee."

Beautiful plates and helmets, Wojtek (y) :)
The text you quoted was from „Uniformenkunde - Das deutsche Heer, Friedensuniformen bei Ausbruch des Weltkrieges“ - Textband I.
Unfortunately, it's not very specific regarding to the sub-paymaster’s helmet. It‘s more about the paymaster as a military official.
I interpreted the text exactly like Wojtek, but since Glenn's quote came from the „Armee-Verordnungsblatt“ I guess his Helmet wore no little eagle.

Thank you for all the feedback. The item before cleaning in the photos. There is no modern interference here.Wappen I bought on the German market, and the seller insisted that he only ships to Germany.I struggled a bit to buy it.https://www.ebay.pl/itm/255367458349
