So I saw this on eBay. Stamped at 1915... Black and white cockade. I think its an older style chinstrap. The skull and bones don't seem to fit all that well on the wappen from the pictures. Something about it.

I know the seller is very respected, but I havent seen a ton of NCO Braunschweig lids to compare to. Lots of interest from 3 bidders especially...

Wappen looks good to me, as the rest...BUT!!!! Always ask to see the back of the Wappen!
However, an early 1915 production could explain the lack of Braunschweig cockade and R92 stamp...Chinstrap and cockades are looking good on pictures.

Thanks Philippe! I've seen so many mixed amalgamation helmets over the years that I'm always a bit skeptical, especially for one of these. I'll probably go for it, but I have never seen one of these in the wild. I think its described on on 69 of vol 1 of Casque a' pointe. I've never seen any mention of the cockades being on short supply or using the prussian ones in the meantime for this regiment. Sounds plausible though! God knows we do that kind of stuff in the military now haha

The back side of wappen is now visible, showing the cut screws with the raised ridge which are attached to the skull device.

Bid price jumped up significantly after seller added these additional photos.

Here is a comparison with my 100% genuine Wappen (that unfortunately came without helmet).

It has been presented here.

I think we can assume the ebay Wappen is a very good piece. However, I would like to see the back of the skull, to have the 100% warrantee auf authenticity.

Do you guys see the hole underneath the stamp 1915? Is this a bad omen or am I just too untrusting?

That’s the price I would give if it had a Braunschweig cocarde and the right numerals.
