Here is an example of repairing the front cover from scratch. The result of the repair came out quite well. What do colleagues think?

Here is an example of repairing the rear cover (canopy) from scratch. It took me the longest time to repair the bottom edge. The result of the repair came out quite well. What do colleagues think?

It looks awesome, very good job (y)
Where did you get the leather for the repair? Or were you able to peel it off the visor whole?
Thank you for sharing these repairs :)

The edge repairs were made from pieces of original leather. The defects were filled with homemade putty according to the technology used at the time.

You did a superb job on restoring the visor, particularly in restoring the lacquer. How did you manage to replicate the surface texture so that it matched the original finish? Usually, applying the lacquer results in a very shiny surface.

Chemically plus a sponge roller.
Provide 1876 lacquer recipe, airbrush painting. The most important thing is high quality materials to make a good varnish. It took me six months to develop the technology.

An example of unprofessional repair (German repair). The wrong glue was used. It took me two evenings to peel and pull the glue from the leather and material, along with straightening. Prepared for gluing I will glue according to the technology of the time.

Another piece of history restored. The subject was quite heavy. It was necessary to make a hem and replace the missing leather. The hem was made from a damaged insole.
