The Kaiser’s Prize (Kaiserschiessabzeichen)

Thanks to member Imrobil , I contacted the seller and purchased this group less the 3 medals .
Here is a group that I just bought from a collector in Germany
The Kaiser prize has 3 dates 1903 - 1906 -1907
this was won by the Hessian I R 116 / 8 Kp
One of the "personal regiments " of Kaiser Wilhelm II
that carried his name and his cypher on their shoulder straps
and epaulettes
they were the only regiments of K W II that won the prize 2 years
in a row
for that , they were awarded a very special shooting cord
the was worn only by I R 116 / 8 Kp
the shooting cord in this group is Stufe 6
I added the officers shoulder strap for display
ith the group
I hope before too much longer to display
a couple of more Hessian groups
this Kaiser Prize was won only by Kp 8 of I R 116
that makes the 3 date award rare
but to my thinking the award could be less soldiers than a normal size Kp
as how many of the men would still be in the Kp
if they were there 1903 and stayed in until 1907?
that would be 5 years
What do you think ?

I was finally able to get the rare special shooting cord
only awarded one time to the Hessian I R 116 / 1 Kp
for 1908 and 1909. They were only 1 of 8 of the regiments
that Kaiser Wilhelm II was the Chef of for the same Kp to win 2 years in a row
between 1901 and 1913.
I got with the group a photo of the soldier who won the cord He is wearing it in the photo

An awesome grouping Steve!

Just in today . Hessian I R 117 / 3 Kp
They won the Kaiser Prize in 1911 and again in 1912
I bought this based on a photo of it
When I got it in , it is better than I expected
The photo of the soldier shows him wearing his Kaiser Prize
The surprise is that unlike my I R 31 where the Kaiser Prices are small replicas
The 2 in this display are real , full size and on the original cloth
the one on the left is 1911
the one on the right is double date 1911 / 1912 . The only 2 times that they won .
the shoulder strap button is for 3 Kp

After I got this in , I was able to add to the display a pair of
I R 117 shoulder straps and the double date 1911 / 1912 Kaiser prize .

What an outstanding display item! Double dated prizes are rare enough but being able to attribute them to a specific regiment is an added bonus. A Hessian regiment makes it even better.
Steve
Many thanks
I am very pleased with the Hessian I R 117 / 3 Kp display .
1911 / 1912 were the only 2 years that they won the Kaiser prize.

First one of these I've seen. Nice to see examples of the Saxon crown that we can compare with Bavaria and Wurttemberg ,
Steve
Yes , IMO a very nice card for us Kaiser & King Prize collectors.
I wonder how many units had these cards made up?

Well, I've spent more time that I'd like to admit to trolling the web for Kaiser/King's Prize related items and I've never encountered one of these postcards so I'd have to think there weren't many.
