New felt Ersatz artillery with question on markings.

My first tought that comes to mind could be that it stands for 2 .Rekruten Depot
If it would be 2. R.B .it thus not ring a bell to me
I have no books on me so i could be wrong here i would have to double check when i am home

If it is 2 RB Google AI tells me this:

The marking "2 Rb" on Prussian artillery likely refers to the 2nd Battery of the 2nd Regiment of Foot Artillery (2. Fußartillerie-Regiment Nr. 2). The "2" indicates the specific battery within the regiment, and "Rb" is an abbreviation for "Regiment Fußartillerie" (Foot Artillery Regiment). This would have been a unit of the Prussian army before and during World War I.

Not sure if I believe it.

Searching on Google.de got this:

Die Markierung "2 RB" auf einer preußischen Artillerie-Pickelhaube steht für das zweite Regiment der Batterie. "RB" steht dabei für "Regimentsbatterie". Diese Markierung gibt an, zu welchem Truppenteil die Pickelhaube gehörte

English translation:

The marking "2 RB" on a Prussian artillery spiked helmet represents the second regiment of the battery. "RB" stands for "regimental battery." This marking indicates which unit the spiked helmet belonged to.
