Zeb's wardrobe

This tunic is from the royal Saxon 2. field artillery regiment n.28, the same of the previous one. It was in the XII army corps and garrisoned in Bautzen.
Interestingly, the cypher of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia was dropped in 1917 along with the cyphers of all "enemy" rulers.
Before the war and until 1917 this uniform had green shoulder straps with the cyper of the russian tzar, while after 1917 it wore the flaming bomb with the number 28.FAR 28 Sachsen (7).jpgSachsen FAR 1.JPGFAR 28 Sachsen5.JPGFAR 28 Sachsen8.JPG

Zeb,
I'm always speechless! These high-quality photos really make you hungry!
What an enchanting wardrobe… :D
Best regards
Frank

I hope I'm not boring you, but today we're featuring yet another artillery regiment:
Here is a prussian Feld Artillery Regiment n. 44 (Triersches Feldartillerie Regiment) tunic.
Noteworthy is the Gun Layers insignia sewn above the left sleeve, introduced with AKO on April 12, 1888.
The insignia consists of a three-flame grenade embroidered in yellow thread on a dark blue cloth patch and sewn just above the cuff.

The collar of this Waffenrock is too high; it's clearly a privately tailored version.

Zeb I'm sure I can speak for every member here when I say there is no way you are boring us.

Personally, I have only been clicking the like button and not commenting, so I don't interfere with your FANTASTIC thread.

Beautiful items in beautiful condition world class collection. (y)(y)

MFG John Josef
Indeed a fantastic thread 👌
Please show us more...I love the quality of your " wardrobe " and the diversity, Zeb.

Cheers, Sander

Still on the subject of artillery, today I'll show you one of my favorite jackets.
It's a one-year volunteer tunic from the prussian 1th Garde Feldartillerie Regiment.
The red three-flame grenade on the white shoulders identifies it as a horse drawn battery (Fahr Abteilung).
I love a lot the peculiar patterned NCO lace on the collar. Really cool.

Awesome Zeb! Thank you for showing us what is inside your wardrobe!!
Just a small detail. The Württemberg artillery helmet doesn't have a ball-like cret chimney, but rather one from an infantry grenadier's helmet. The lid is domed to accommodate a spike.
