Pattern 1871 Albert helmet

I’ve been offered this Pattern 1871 Albert helmet and Queen’s South Africa Medal and miniature, that belonged to Capt. Lambert C. Larking. The helmet is from the 2nd County of London Imperial Yeomanry, but Capt. Larking served with the 51st Company, 19th Battalion “Paget’s Horse” during the Second Boer War. I was happy to find a photo of Larking taken 121 years ago that shows him holding this helmet, and wearing the QSA medal.

Terrific helmet in very good condition! It is even better that the tin is named and that you have been able to source a photograph.

Great helmet and nice to have the set together. I only have one of my Great Grandfather's Boer war medals as someone decided to split them up up within the family years ago. I did get a nice quality reproduction done of the one I was missing. Here is my helmet and his medal set.
