Late Year Midwest Shows

Good Evening everyone,

I was wondering if anyone happens to know of any good shows happening in the midwest towards the end of this year? I am still unfortunately on deployment but have been able to save some money and am hoping for a good show to spend it at,and also have the opportunity to meet some of the forum members. I know the Goldrush antiques show in Rochester, MN often has some good dealers but I dont know that there are any members here that travel to the show especially since there typically arent any imperial dealers there, just general militaria.

Thank you,
Will

Will, when is this show, I have not been to this show before, but depending on when it is, would like to meet you etc. it is roughly 4 hours or so from me.

The show happens twice a year, every year in May and in August, this year I believe the dates are from Aug. 14-16th I do not know if I'll be home in time for it and unfortunately cannot post specifics but either way we could arrange meeting once I'm home on leave again. If i remember right you are in the twin cities area? which is where my sister lives and also where I typically fly into (unless i feel like spending the extra money on flying into rochester). So if thats the case i'm sure we could organize something!

sounds great, I am actually in Alexandria, about 2 hours north of MPLS. Keep in touch and we can try and figure something out.

There is a show in Leavenworth that goes on around November. Mostly general militaria though, but you’d find a few imperial items here and there.

The Leavenworth show always brings out interesting stuff. The area is home to many retired military who have stuff in their closets. I do well at this show held on November 20 & 21 by a local dealer with a Leavenworth shop called Overlooked Militaria.

That's interesting, as I've never seen anything "walk in" or be brought into this show to be sold by any of the numerous retired military who have stuff in their closets in Leavenworth, or the surrounding area. Good for you if you've been able to find walk-ins at either of the two shows. :)(y)

I missed Jason's show this past Nov, unfortunately.

And there is a show held in February in the same venue, hosted by another individual, and not by Jason of Overlooked Militaria. Both shows have been excellent for me for selling things.

I've always done well selling at either of the two shows, Nov & Feb. Probably because there's really not much for Imperial there, or WW1 U.S.

Like most military shows, both of these shows are predominantly 3rd Reich militaria shows, with little Imperial military.

And if you like excellent Thai food, there's Bahn Thai a few blocks away, that never disappoints.

Many years ago, when I lived in Mankato, I used to always go to both of the Rochester shows. I haven't been to either of them for quite a while.

I went to the Elko flea market/antique show a couple of years ago, to check out a couple of Ulan Tschapkas that a dealer friend found. They were both modern day repros, which was disappointing.
