Information needed for Busby for Meldenreiter

Hello everyone,

As a hussar enthusiast, I am very intrigued by the uniform of the Meldenreiter of the 15th AK.

As stated in the book "The German Cavalry" by "Herr and Nguyen," their Attilas were white with red braid.

It is mentioned that they wore a "standard" busby.

Now my question is: does anyone know if this "standard" busby should have a silver or gold scroll ( Vaterlandsbandeau )?
And is the color of the kolpak (probably) red?

If there are people who have photos of the Attila from Vorholz, I would also like to see them.

Thank you all in advance,
Sander

Hello Sander,

I am sorry, I have no idea concerning your questions - but I guess you were the winner of this piece yesterday?

Cheers Peter

Thanks Peter,

I'm hoping that someone has old photos from its exhibition at Vornholz...perhaps a busby would be visual ...

I was the second-highest bidder.
There was no fur pelzmütze for this unit at Vornholz.
Do you know the book *Unter den Fahnen der alten Armee*?

Hello Kuerassier,

Thank you for this great info that answers my questions.

Unfortunately, I do not have the book myself.

I only have the information from the recent Cavalry book by Militaria Verlag, so I am very happy with your input.

I hope you won't hold it against me that the Attila is now going to the Netherlands.

Congratulations Sander (y)

Any information on the color of the pants? It's very hard to tell from black and white photos. Maybe white or red.

MFG John Josef

a special attila for dispatch riders of only one army corps, thus a tiny number of soldiers involved, and than how many will have survived 100 years plus later... that piece must be almost unique in the world! congratulations on your purchase Sander!!!
