Zeb's wardrobe

Awesome Zeb! Thank you for showing us what is inside your wardrobe!!
Just a small detail. The Württemberg artillery helmet doesn't have a ball-like cret chimney, but rather one from an infantry grenadier's helmet. The lid is domed to accommodate a spike.

Dear Clovis, you're right. You truly have a skilled and infallible eye, and you never miss a single detail.
I actually used a dragoon helmet, temporarily mounted with a kugel for demonstration purposes (unfortunately, I don't currently have a Württemberg artillery helmet).

To continue on the topic here is a greatcoat model 1894 from the same old owner: an one-year volunteer of the mounted battery of the 1th Guards Field Artillery Regiment.
I really love the light shade of grey of these greatcoats.
Believe me, it was not easy to find this set.View attachment 76413View attachment 76414View attachment 76415
Zeb

I forgot I had this photo - you can just see the striped edges of the shoulder strap..

I’d like to take this opportunity to show you the different types of covers of chimney, depending on the helmet’s design :

---M60 or Dragon with a very tall cross-shaped base. The screw is at the tip.

---Special edition for the people of Hesse: the lid is lower but has two steps, and the top is flat. The screw comes out of the ball completely.

---Infantry helmet crest, for Busch (Grenadier, Guard, etc.). Shorter and more rounded. The screw is flush with the edge.

Please note :
This applies only to the ‘KAMMER’ models supplied by B.A. and not to the Eigentum or Officer models.
The spouts are therefore designed to fit specific types of chimney. You cannot screw a Dragon spout onto an infantry or artillery chimney. You cannot fit a grenadier spout onto an artillery chimney.
