    Artillery Picklehaube identification

Probably a 1915 style officer helmet, on which the zinc fittings lost their goldwash/plating.

another thing like that, apparently there are a lot of helmets in England

That's why its better for starters to place pictures, or helmets offered on E-bay or other sites here. Here you get an honest answer to your asking about the helmets offered there. We are all collectors here, and you alway's get an honest reply about the helmets. It is one of the main points...

Steve and Allan are right, it's a piece of crap.

    German helmet / butcher bayonets

I cannot help with the markings, but the ones with the so called higher ears, like in the first picture, are the fist models, also known as Alter Art. The ones with lower "ears" are the Neuer Art. These are some fine bayonets! :)

    Excellent helmet and bayonets!

    Artillery Picklehaube identification

I'd leave it as it is, the looped nuts are correct for this helmet. The stars holding the spike on, as does the perlring and kokarde indicate an officer. The again I do not know if the crown on the wappen should be pierced, as in later officer helmets. Its a very nice example!

Well spoken Zeb, and correctly the way most of us "escape" the reality of life's chores.

    Interesting Bayonet and Frog

It looks/seems to be Bekleidung Instandsetzungs Amt 7, the little f meaning feldbrauchbar. I only see those markings, or similar markings on helmets, never on other equipment.

    the Jaeger zu Pferde

Thanks for the translation Peter. But it was written in the Dutch language, so I understood it quite well, being Dutch off-course. :)

    the Jaeger zu Pferde

If I were you, I'd pass on that one. Finding a JzPf spike and it's mounting isn't easy. In fact very rare to find.. Also it is too expensive in my opinion. I paid 1800€ for mine, from a forum member. And that one is complete, and all original.

    the Jaeger zu Pferde

Well, the larger kokarde is preferable for a Jäger zu Pferde M15, but you can also find them with the smaller kokarde. It is quite common, as probably a result of shortages for the larger sized ones. My JzPf M15 has the smaller ones for instance, and have been there since it was issued.

A very nice reference book arrived today.

Thanks Francis, also many thanks to you for pointing out to me where it could be bought at a very nice price. I will be visiting their shop more from now. As I intend to buy more books from Verlag Militaria. Their books are really sublime. Regards, Coert.

    EM Pionier M95.

Well the Pionier helmet I bought recently has arrived. An enlisted men's one. It has depot/PB markings, but very difficult to read, size 55 marked. Reich kokarde is okay, the prussian has a repainted white ring. All in all I like it! Regards, Coert.
