Yep the helmet would be correct for IR75. I have a couple of questions though. I dont have a steel ersatz haube in my collection, though I keep trying , so I have nothing to compare it to. I do have a 1915 JzP and 2 felt ersatz, which have slots, rather than round holes for mounting the wappen...

I was asking the same thing..it certainly seems to be a guard helmet and for those of us who dont mind spending a little time on cleaning up, its a very complete and apparently easy job, but thats a lot of money..why so much? This is why I was thinking the bidding was being pushed :-k

Yes your right. The L.G. stamp says its a police helmet, but that wappen just isnt right, atleast not for that helmet. The spike, the spine all wrong. Still not convinced its a fire helmet, but there is no way that any of the metal work was put on the helmet in 1883. Every helmet he has on ebay...
