So I just picked up my second haube, I can see no markings inside and have noticed that the wappen has been repaired on one side. Also the shell has been crudely carved out so I’m guessing it is not the original wappen, albeit a clean stamped piece and imho of some age, And one of the kokards...

I was planning on using the sort of foam that goes into sofas and such like, plus like you mentioned I thought about adding an additional cotton lining for that very reason 👍

I have removed the wappen for your perusal and judgment on whether you guys think that it has been re soldered, Also I have inspected the interior holes and what looked to be putty was just wear from it being attached. So it appears unmolested. Cheers kirstin 👍

I have removed the Wappen and it hasn’t been tampered with, two slits in the leather and the soldering looks good 👍 I will post more photos when I get home
