    Back From Prague

Thanks for all your kind comments. I am very excited about my new items, and always am surprised as to how I find them. I have not had good luck in military or antique shops in Prague, but rather in newspaper adds, odds and ends shops, or by word of mouth. You just can't predict. I just got back...

    Back From Prague

There was heated discussion between my Czech freinds whether this was a model 1827 or 1848 Austro-Hungarian Dragoon helmet. They finally lost me, my Czech isn't that good, but I bought it anyway  . Absolutely huge and awesome ! Most likely missing the bush, but my reference material on this...

The problem when I come over here is my Czech friends want me to cook chili and Mexican food for them. I am eating well, but it is my food. I have the bragging rights for my chili. I won the regional contest 3 years in a row. The beer is exceptional. I especially like the "cerny pivos", dark...

I am still in the Czech Republic. Pickings have been slim, and prices have been ridiculous...until you find that one exception. On the first day, a friend brought me a WW1 Russian mutze. My traveling buddy found a pair of ww2 German officer's boots for $ 13.00. Yesterday I got an 1848 Dragoon...

Yes, Austrian. From left to right, NCO, Officer, and EM. I am lucky enough to have 14 or 15 Austrian helmets. I leave for Prague Aug. 9th for 3 weeks to continue the search, but each time it gets harder. Wish me luck. Corky

I've been holding my breath until the money arrived. It did this morning. I bought the officer's helmet in the middle. I needed to defray some of the cost, so I put the enlisted man's helmet on the right on Ebay. I listed it for what I paid about a year ago, $699.00. There was a bidding flurry...

The three greatest movies of all time

OK, I've got to weigh in on this. I'm a movie buff and this was very hard for me. I had to chose by the ones I don't get tired of seeing. Pappillion, Gunga Din, and the newer Saving Private Ryan. Also, I have had some very good news lately, so maybe someday you'll be adding a yet to be made film...

    Kaiser Coffee

It's Venezualan coffee, but may be an American firm. I googled it up and the only reference was for WW2 Germany in Poland. That was the logo on their extermination truck for the mentally handicapped. Not cool. I'm hoping to find its USA. Corky
