I must say that the book is an excellent contribution to the history of the Imperial German Army.It looks like an officer could kit himself with anything or everything.'English' saddles also seemed to be in demand by the horsey types.
Many of the interned Germans in New Zealand during WW1 were reservists.Most ended up detained on Somes Island.
These photos from a reliable NZ source are said to be from 1916.Some carnival or stage act was being performed by the internees.
Strange that reservists so far from Germany had handy...
