    M1915 in Brass

I sure can! I think it may just be a filthy brass loop on the left, but I will test it out tonight.

    Lacquered Felt M1895

Thank you for the lead on the liner! I have experience reattaching liners and visors, so I know I can at the very least do that. I will definitely proceed slowly on this one, though, as I don't want to mess anything up.

    Lacquered Felt M1895

My first such example! I've had a few other Filzhelms of the typical variety, but this is my first rolled-edge. I would love to give it back some of its former glory, but not go too far with the restoration.

    M1915 in Brass

Hey all! This is one of two Pickelhauben I got in last week. I had only seen examples of these brass M1915s in a French reference book I own. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be able to own one, but sure enough, one popped up! One side note - The spacing of the front plate loops...

    Lacquered Felt M1895

Good afternoon, all! After a few year hiatus from Pickelhauben, I happened to get in two, one day after the other. To say I am thrilled is an understatement! This one is a Lacquered M1895 Filzhelm that my wife actually spotted on Facebook marketplace, of all places. I jumped on it as soon as I...

    Mecklenburgisches Füsilier-Regiment Kaiser Wilhelm Nr.90

I actually own the photo of the Strelitzer. One of my favorite postcard photos in the collection!

    Bavarian Generals tunic

I could be wrong, but I think von Godin is in this period photo I own. Regardless, there are two nice examples of Bavarian General uniforms shown.

    Mecklenburgisches Füsilier-Regiment Kaiser Wilhelm Nr.90

Soldiers of RIR90. Those Mecklenburg cockades stand out like a sore thumb! Notice that they were issued Prussian Pickelhauben.

    Mecklenburgisches Füsilier-Regiment Kaiser Wilhelm Nr.90

What stunners, Philippe!! I have a soft spot in my heart for Mecklenburg-Schwerin, as that is where my Bandow (and other) ancestors were from. A very bad economic situation in the 1860s led them to leave, but our family still holds a fondness for our old home!

    Baden Landwehr M95

What an incredible revival! I honestly wouldn't even be able to tell it was ever crushed in on top. Brian, you are da man!!!!

    Baden M15 Crusher!

This looks like a tougher project. I wish you nothing but success, Brian! I look forward to seeing the progress and results!

This thread could use a bump! Here is a nice FR90 photo I recently got in from the Vaterland.

    Prussian Felt M95 helmet

I have restored a couple felt helmets, and they are much easier to work with than the leather ones. That is, if they haven't been glued or messed with previously. What a great result!

    Saxon Jäger

It's been a while, so I figured I would share one of my recent arrivals! Here is a nice studio portrait, showing a Jäger of Königlich Sächsische Reserve-Jäger-Bataillon Nr. 26.

    1860s Mecklenburg Dragoon?

Thank you! Apparently, only Mecklenburg and Oldenburg Dragoons wore the "Russian model" cap in that era. I didn't see any Oldenburg Dragoons with yellow/gold litzen, so I think he is a Mecklenburger.

    1860s Mecklenburg Dragoon?

Hello all! I am hoping that someone may be able to confirm my suspicions on this photo. I got it in with a grouping of other photos, and suspect that he may be an 1860s Mecklenburg Dragoon. I know they wore kepis. If not a Mecklenburger, I would certainly think a Dragoon of one of the other...
