The italian war era M1915 soft kepi was realized in grey-green heavy wool. The shape is about the same of the old headgear. The officer rank's stripes are in grey cotton thread and the artillery badge is of black cotton thread to ensure low visibility All this characteristics, in my opinion...

Have you noted the all the three ersatzmetalhlem showed here are stamped 8 J.P.? No other regiment???

And now I want to analize in details the headgears. The embroidery gold metallic thread is composed of two crossed cannons and two crossed rifle (only fortress artillery) with above a flaming grenade. The number 9 indicate the 9th regiment and the two stripes indicate the rank of 1th leutnant...
