This is gorgeus a wonderful piece. In my humble opinion the campaign hat is one of the most iconic example of the WW1 US troops' headgears.

You are right. The base, the spike without pearling and perhaps also the eagle come from a more recent model. Unfortunately there are few 1867 models left intouched since today. Zeb.
