That's really nice, are my eyes playing tricks on me or is that printed paper cloth. Like I mentioned I've never seen it used on a liner before. I've seen it on the underside of shoulder boards, straps on gas mask cans ect... That really looks cool, and I've never seen it printed in color...

I know it was tuff having any kind of Militaria items from WWII but not sure about WWI. Personal experience for me is that part of my family lives outside of Eisenach and was stuck on the wrong side of the wall during the Communist period. My uncle now has a few family pieces from the WWII...

WOW is that made of ersatz paper cloth. The texture looks like it, but I've never seen it made in that color with a printed pattern(y)(y).

I agree the first helmet looks like it was written with a modern sharpie Marker the ink and style look totally bogus IMO. Which is a shame. 🫣 Sometimes you have to go with your gut and mine says run the other direction

The design in very similar to the Swiss I wouldn't be surprised if they used this design to develop their Helmet. The insignia also looks similar to what the Swiss were wearing at the time. Congratulations of acquiring such a rare helmet in very nice condition.
