Hello, This is an infantry pickelhaube. The stamp says; 23 IR IB 1913 which stands for 23rd Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion, year 1913. The eagle does not belong there, it is from a Dragoner helmet...

I have indeed seen this too, at A.D.M. I believe, but he didn't convince me. I don't know exactly what it is, maybe the strange flat ribbed fabric in combination with thick cockades (looks like WW2).. It seems too new to me (perhaps post war veterans cap...) so I didn't buy it...
