Easy to remedy the eagle just press it on to the helmet. Unless it has fracture marks it will take it. Great felt by the way.

Thanks Colin I actually monitor US, Germany and France's eBay every day. The French spine is a little short. I made an offer on the relic spine because I think it is the right length. I just hope ( if I get it ) it will clean up .

I agree with Pontiac 9999 I think that this was issued with a thin guilting over the zinc and has faded with age. But I do love the look! Thanks for sharing.

That comb helm is a beauty !

Well it looks semi original to me. The rosettes and cocardes are mounted in the wrong order. The liner looks correct but the wrinkle wear on the fingers looks contrived. The screw post holding the spike looks to be on the thin side. Most that I have seen are much stouter.

It is a nice helmet. Size does not matter in pickelhaubes . Some collectors would like a larger size in chance that they could were it. MOST collectors size does NOT matter because when they receive one they will look at it and place it on a shelf.
