Feldgrau was supposed to be mat, but it does become shiny after some ware, so you will find more shiny ones than the ones in depo condition, and for beginning collectors it may seem that the shine look is the reference.

Maybe , but I think this is just patina because the spike is M95 not M15. As far as I know the M95 felt was always worn with cover, so no need to darken the fittings.

Thanks gents. Alan, the wappen is neusilber with a dark patina. The inside of the eagle is still silver but I don’t want to take the wappen of the helmet, coz one nut does not come lose with the force of my fingers.

If you are asking if the rim is reenforced with bamboo, it’s not. It is just a seem, but it those maintain the shape of the helmet a lot better than the cut versions. Yes that lacking vent hole is a bit of a mystery, Probe ? manufactory mistake ? the jury’s out.
