    A Pretty Little Book...

Hi Guys Thought I'd share this recent acquisition, a child's uniform book circa 1892 or so. It's not particularly rare or valuable but very colorful, in great condition for its age and in general just a nice old thing. I'm not real sure about the 1892 business, I used that date because the...

    A pistol with a past..

Thanks Guys, glad you enjoyed it..... Joe, I agree, von Bredow's success was used by some as proof of the continued need for cavalry on the battlefield into the 20th century. Why on the otherhand they (powers that be)chose to ignore the disastrous charge of the French Guard Cuirassiers during...

Greetings All Recently I was inspired by Glennj’s posting, Identifying the Unidentified , to start on a bit less daunting project, but one I hope you all will find interesting to some degree. The object to be considered is a Prussische Kavalleriepistolle M/1850 caliber 15.2mm, standard issue...

1862 Needle Gun, Zundnadelgewehr Modell 1862

Thought some of the clan might enjoy seeing some images of or our most recent needle gun to the pile. This example is a M1862 Infantry Rifle with the Beck’s bolt and rear sight modification. We were very fortunate to purchase this example and was courtesy of a friend’s referral. It is an...

    Kürassier-Regiment nr 7 „von Seydlitz“ (Magdeburgisches)

Interesting old helmet, still with a story to tell. I like the handpainted size number on the side of the liner and the unit number allows you the fun of doing research on this old beastie to find its service history in the 1862-1864-1870 wars of unification. He still will look cool sitting on a...

I'd have a run at yours for Dragoon Rgt 7 Ersatz Eskadron.... I like these needle guns also, hopefully will be receiving another 62...
